About

Hello Hello!

My name is Charity Palamara and I am so happy you’re here!

I love my career as a hairstylist more every day.

I love connecting and using my creativity and skill set to create gorgeous natural looks. Nothing makes me feel better than when I can send my guests back out into the world feeling better than before they stepped in.

I’m always trying to grow as a person and stylist, so I gather inspiration everywhere: outside, through magazines (I think I’m the last person on earth to get like 8 monthly magazines to my house), and art. My favorite artist is a nun from the 1960s named Sister Corita Kent, best known for her Pop art. Over the past year, I was able expand my horizons and go to two Salvador Dali museums (Florida and Paris) as well as the Louvre!

Those places were so cool!! Buuuut in terms of inspiration, my biggest source comes from the special part of everyday life: being with my family.

My grandfather (the light of my life, my muse and inspiration) working behind the chair during the 1950s/60s.

Fun fact, I am a fourth generation hairdresser!

And although hairdressing is not my first career, it is totally in my blood. I have been licensed behind the chair full-time for two years, and have a lifetime of education and encouragement from my mom and grandpa and family.

I spent about six years in a corporate setting after graduating from Salve Regina University in 2011. Which was...fine. I kinda thought I HAD to work in that environment since I had a degree.

But ultimately, I woke up one day and decided I wanted to help and be a part of my community, be myself, love and nurture my talent, and excel.

Hello hairdressing!!

When I’m not in the salon, I like to keep up with hair, makeup and fashion trends so I can always give the best advice.

I love to ride my bike, make giant collages from magazines, and work out. I am obsessed with cheap coffee (I will take a Cumberland Farms coffee over Starbucks any day, don’t judge me!), and have the sweetest chubby orange cat.

On weekends I love to spend time doing creative projects and watching reality shows!

And now, for my final and most fun of all the facts, my mom (who is the boss lady at Salon 1560) and I love to cook and bake. So, at the salon you can look forward to fresh batches of baked goods every time you come in! They are made by her, but you and I will eat them together. Actually, you can expect a goodie bag when you leave (rice krispie treats, cookies, mini cupcakes, to name a few)!

Okay. That’s plenty about me.

I want to hear from you!
